Bare hand contact wtith ready to eat foods is a particular problem for bartenders that can lead to Hepatitis A and Norovirus outbreaks; to mention a few. The bare hands of a bartender come in contact with ice, fruit, olives and other items that customers consume. It’s virtually impossible for a bartender to avoid bare hand contact. Texas allows bare hand contact when a written double handwashing procedure is available for employees to follow. Guidelines for allowing bare hand contact is provided below.
